Ferrule: The connecting metal piece that comes between the handle and the brush hair must be seamless black nickel-plated for beauty, hardness, and resistance to rusting, pitting, and tarnishing. The nickel ferrule is double crimped and glued onto the hard wood handle so it will not slip, twist, or come off in normal use.
Glue: When the brush hairs of a quality brush are properly phenolically glued and oven dried, bristle fallout and hair breakage is prevented. A phenolic cement is used so that the brush can be washed and cleaned. Phenolic glue won't break down or wash out with soap and water. We glue our brush the length of the ferrule to insure hair retention.
Handle: Quality brush handles should be of a seasoned hard wood. We use White Birch which is kiln dried to seal the pores. Our brush handles are ergonomically contoured with a slim line design for balance, control, and ease of handling. Six coats of hand-dipped environmentally safe, lead free, matte stain give the handle unmatched and beauty. Three coats of a clear matting solution inhibit chipping and offer long lasting durability. Each brush has it's name and part number stamped for easy identification.
